TYASA exists to better understand and support the individuals and organizations who make local youth sports possible.
Our current focus is listening, learning directly from those involved in volunteer-led environments.
Local youth sports organizations carry significant responsibility.
Leaders and board members often manage:
Registration and scheduling
Volunteer coordination
Safety compliance
Budget and fundraising needs
Communication with families
This listening initiative is not an evaluation of governance or league affiliation.
It is an opportunity to share operational realities and sustainability concerns in a structured, voluntary way.
Participation is opt-in and confidential.
Volunteer coaches give their time, energy, and leadership to young athletes.
Coaching often includes:
Practice planning
Player development
Parent communication
Safety instruction
Game management
TYASA’s listening phase seeks to understand coaching workload, support gaps, and long-term sustainability challenges.
This is not a review of performance or competitive outcomes.
It is an opportunity to share lived experience.
Families play an essential role in youth sports.
Participation involves:
Financial commitment
Schedule coordination
Trust in safety procedures
Communication with coaches and leadership
This initiative invites parents and guardians to share feedback about clarity, environment, safety confidence, and overall experience.
Responses are reviewed in aggregate and are not publicly attributed to individual organizations.
Participation in the Listening Initiative is voluntary and managed through a request process to protect survey integrity.
If you are currently involved in youth sports and would like to contribute your perspective:
Engagement begins with conversation not commitment.
